A NORWICH-based property management firm is using an innovative web portal system developed by a company in Cambridgeshire.
Norwich Residential Management (NRM) has signed up to use the Block Management Online (www.blockmanagementonline.com) portal to help manage their portfolio of properties.
The novel system has been designed to aid communication between property management organisations and leaseholders. Block Management Online was developed by Esscotti, an Ely-based company that offers website and "app" design services. Esscotti’s other clients include the University of Cambridge and East of England Development Agency
Explaining how the new portal benefits his company and makes life easier for residents, NRM managing director Guy Hudson said: “We are excited to offer the Block Management Online portal as part of our service to clients. The leaseholder portal will enable our clients to log-in at any time without hassle, in order to receive information that matters to them.
“We pride ourselves on personal service and hands on management. However, where advances in technology are available to complement and assist our clients we are happy implement these systems. We have invested in the technology to improve our service and ensure information is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
The Block Management portal is the brainchild of Arvind Shah, managing director of Esscotti.
Outlining how Block Management Online works in practice, Mr Shah said: “The web portal for the block, development or residents’ management company can act as a first point of contact. Also, documents such as insurance policies, standing order mandates, annual returns, accounts and minutes from Annual General Meetings can be published on the block portal. This will save the effort and postage costs of sending these in hard copy. The benefit to the leaseholder is that these documents are available from anywhere at any time. It also reduces the carbon footprint of individuals and organisations.”
He added: “Our software technology helps users to manage information about the block and also helps to communicate more effectively with all members of the community by the use of web and email. Our success is based partly on successfully translating the needs of the market and building a niche product and business model that meets the needs of the market. There are about 65,000 residential management companies in the UK and through the use of our web-based software we hope to help managing agents improve service levels and reduce costs.”
